Yarn Along -4 May 2011 and a Birthday

This week's Yarn Along is a brand new project.  I've got exactly 2 rounds done.  It's going to be the Tosh Purse out of Sock Yarn One-Skein Wonders.  It's a Christmas present for a special young lady in the family.  I sure hope she likes it, the pattern looks cute.

My new cookbook came in and I'm enjoying 'reading' all the yummy sounding recipes.  It's the Mennonite Girls Can Cook cookbook.  I've followed their blog for quite a while and love their recipes.

I've finished my new knee socks.  I'll get the pattern posted soon.

Oh yeah, I mentioned a birthday didn't I?  Today is my 40th birthday.  I'm not sure how I got to be that old.  When Mom and Dad were 40 they seemed so old, but I'm not.  But then again I was 17 when Mom was 40 and Ella's only 5  :)  At least I'm not like my Grandma Johnson, she became a Grandma (me) at 41!  Ella's getting a cold but I hope to have a nice birthday picture to post tomorrow.

Happy Birthday!!!!! Welcome to the club! E was only 1 1/2; N had just turned 4... and I too thought about how I was much older than that when my mother turned 40; then I remembered that God has a different plan for each of us.

I think that it is really funny that one skein of sock yarn yeilds one sock! Why do they do that??? I like your socks.

I'm so excited to order the Mennonite Girls Cookbook; on the next payday... It's so hard waiting!!!!

Thank you! We had a nice supper with the in-laws. Turning 40 wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Kimberly, I think you will really like the cookbook. Lots of yummy recipes.
