Stuff

It's been a busy week but quiet in a way. There hasn't really been much to blog about but lots to be doing. I swear I could dust this house every day, it grows dust overnight :) Really it's all the dust from the large equipment running around our yard all day. Colin and Dad are busy trying to get the corn and soy beans finished. We had so much rain last night. It's going to be a while before they get done. Colin is hoping the tomatoes and pumpkins survived the rain ok. We've actually got spring-like puddles (lakes) around the yard. Hopefully we can get a week of sunshine and high 20's, then I will have a happy hubby.

We had order week at the OVFC and I was concerned. I didn't know how orders would go, since the H1N1 nonsense. Turns out the Ottawa Valley is filled with sensible people who can see through media hype. We had a fabulous month of sales, even the farm gate sales seem to have increased. It's so satisfying, people realize that it's important to know where your food is coming from. We really need to start focusing on renewing our local economies. It's nice to worry about the world, but if your neighbours are going hungry then it's time to change focus!

Of course, here's the real reason we keep on trying!!
