Menu Plan Monday -22 April 2019

Well, what to say about last week?  It's definitely wet.  Colin thinks the water is up further in the field than any other year.  But it also seems to be going down in other places (like around the house -hurray!).  There is lots of flooding in Renfrew County this year.  The Trans Canada Highway west of Pembroke is even closed.  That means everyone (i.e., all the transports heading to Western Canada) is being re-directed all the way over to Eganville and up hwy 60 through Algonquin Park!  Glad we aren't going that way.

Nothing too crazy planned this week.  Ella would like to hang out with her friends again, and Amanda needs some knitting help.  We're also going to see a Shakespeare play at the local high school (the one Daddy attended).  Did I tell you that lately book club has been doing "A Mid-Summer Night's Dream"?  Well, it just so happens that Opeongo High School is doing that play.  That should be fun.

I need to change my menu plan a bit from what I wrote down in March.  Belinda and Stefan are coming on the weekend for Mom's birthday (71!).  Mom asked for roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, so that's what I'm making on Saturday.  If they don't go home on Sunday, I'll be making another big supper.

Monday:
hot chicken
Tuesday:
chicken pot pie with garlic biscuits
Wednesday:
pork chops
Thursday:
leftover pot pie
Friday:
Chip Pit -oh yeah, I forgot to tell you the chip 'truck' in Cobden is finally open!!!!  Happy Daddy!
Saturday:
prime rib, mashed potatoes, corn, Yorkshire pudding (though it will be popovers), and cake
Sunday:
baked meatballs

More great ideas at I'm an Organizing Junkie.
