Farmgirl Friday -10 June 2011

This week for Farmgirl Friday is a post about how proud I am of my hard-working Farmer Boy!  Colin works so hard to provide for our family.

Still trying to get all our market garden plants in.  I was helping Colin on Sunday to tie up the new tomato plants.  This is the smart way to plant 150 tomatoes:  gas-powered drill with an auger on the end!

Some of the earlier planted tomatoes are looking great.  We just need a bit more sunshine and warmth and then I can get my first REAL tomato!!!
Totals Planted:
57 squash (10 more to go)
65 cucumbers (25 more to go)
200 pumpkins -13 varieties (50 more to go)
120 tomatoes -6 varieties (30 more to go)
3 acres of sweet corn -total of 16 different maturity dates
plus raised beds of green and yellow beans, peas, carrots, beets, lettuce, and other vegetables.

Of course all this is on top of the 400 acres of wheat, corn and soy beans (mostly done) and the piggies that are always wanting fed  :)
