Gaudete! -Third Sunday of Advent

Busy day with the family so I will share a post from another wonderful Advent:
This is the third Sunday of Advent.  If you are using coloured candles, this is the pink week.  It is the Sunday of joy and rejoicing.   Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice; let your forbearance be known to all, for the Lord is near at hand; have no anxiety about anything, but in all things, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God. (Philippians 4:4-6).   This is the opening lines from the introit for this Sunday’s Mass.
The three candles move us from expectation, to longing, to rejoicing.  We can be confident that the grace we ask for will be given.  And soon we will be shouting with the angels, proclaiming the joy of Christ’s arrival.
Today’s Advent activity was to finish decorating in the house.  The garland and lights are up and our various angels are out.  Ella loved her stocking and was quite amazed with my German Christmas pyramid.
My favourite Advent carol for today:
