Menu Plan Monday -17 August 09

Weather continues hot, hot, hot. I've been able to keep the house "livable" by closing it up after the cool morning air. Oh, for central air :) I know, that's not very old fashioned of me but I just don't like the heat.

Monday:
chicken sandwiches

pork chops on the bbq

Tuesday:
French toast

short ribs in the crock pot

Wednesday:
spaghetti

maple pork ribs -recipe later too

Thursday:
cowboy casserole

leftover beef ribs

Friday:
mac & cheese and pierogies for me

leftover pork ribs

Saturday:
??? -OVF delivery day and errands in town

shoulder chops on the bbq

Sunday:
hot dogs

oven-roasted chicken -recipe later

As usual, head over to I'm an Organizing Junkie and check out all the other menu ideas.

I bought pork this week! A tenderloin, and it was amazing. Menu making is on my very long list of to-do's for today, we are so out of everything that I need to do a little more groc. shopping before I can commit to a planned menu.

I like when we have some tenderloin kicking around the freezer. It's one of most expensive cuts, so we don't get to eat it much. Have you tried my balsamic tenderloin (http://ellasoldfashionedmomma.blogspot.com/2009/06/recipes-june-15.html) it's Colin's favourite way to have tenderloin.

I rec'd the book today in the mail! Thank you so much, Paula. It looks interesting and I'm sure I'll enjoy it very much. I'm very interested in the Amish since we visited Lancaster PA last summer.

We are concerned about the headlines regarding hog farmers, praying that your family will be ok.

Blessings and many thanks,
Niki

Hi Niki
That's pretty good timing since I only sent it regular mail! I'd love to go to Lancaster. Thanks for the prayers, we need them desperately. I try not to worry and to trust in the Lord, but it's hard to do when your financial world is crumbling. I just thank God that we didn't go through with buying the farm and the addition. That's all we'd need right now -a mortgage payment to a bank instead of rent payments to a reasonable landlord (Mom and Dad) :]

Please remind people that no pigs have H1N1 (only the ones infected by people out west) and even if they did, it's not in the meat. It's all perception.

Seeing your list of meals for the week just made me extremely hungry. :)
I will have to give that Cowboy Casserole a try. I love casseroles, they are too easy to make. :)

I hope you are having a good week!

Blessings,
Dawn
